Rune founded Avanto Capital in 2015. He started his career on the buy side at Norske Shell's pension fund, first as a portfolio manager, then as CEO at age 29. That taught him a critical lesson early on: how do you protect and grow capital through real market cycles? By making sure decisions hold up against reality, not just look good in a boardroom. He went on to work in investment banking before shifting focus, after 2008, to private equity and secondary market investments, a market where network, reliability, and results count for more than headlines. Rune invests his own money in every fund Avanto manages.

Lars developed sound investment habits early in his life. At just 27, he was Head of Research at Norcap, where he learned to think independently about what actually works. After more than a decade of allocation decisions, he stepped back in 2020, only to realize he missed the craft. He joined Avanto in 2022 and manages the hedge fund Avanto Right Tail (ART). He's allergic to consensus thinking and hunts for asymmetric opportunities in the market, refusing to be swayed by narratives. Lars invests his own money in every fund Avanto manages.

Hugo brings an operational, risk-aware perspective to Avanto, and with over 40 years of experience in the oil industry, he has broad reach across Norwegian business. As former Resource and HSSE Director at BP, and CEO of "Samarbeid for Sikkerhet", Hugo has deep insight into technical, health, safety, security, environment (HSSE) and financial risk assessment. He also has experience with unlisted investments across industries and is himself an active investor in several early-stage companies. Hugo invests his own money in every fund Avanto manages.

Bente is responsible for finance and accounting in Avanto Capital and the fund structures the company manages. She makes sure our companies and funds always have their "house in order."
